Class Description:
Bowls may be one of the first forms we learn on the pottery wheel, but they're also one of the most rewarding to refine. In this energetic class, students will explore all sorts of bowls including cereal, ramen, pasta, and serving bowls, along with matching and nesting sets.

Designed for all experience levels, demonstrations build from foundational techniques to more advanced approaches, allowing beginners to establish strong skills while experienced throwers continue to refine their forms, consistency, and craftsmanship.

Class Description:
In this all levels, project-based handbuilding class, students will create two-three thoughtfully designed serving pieces while exploring form, proportion, and function. Along the way, you'll work closely with Alice to develop your vision, consider how your pieces will be used, and experiment with surface decoration to create a cohesive collection.

We'll wrap up the session with a community potluck, bringing everyone's finished work together around the table it was made for. Suitable for beginners and experienced makers alike.

Class Description:
Take a deeper dive into the art of relief printmaking in this four-week introduction to lino block printing. Students will learn how to develop an image, safely carve linoleum blocks, and experiment with inking and printing techniques. Along the way, we'll explore composition, mark making, and simple methods for creating editions of your work.

Classes take place at the historic Glebe House, one of the oldest buildings in Poughkeepsie. where our printmaking studio is home to antique presses and heritage textile equipment. It's a unique setting to slow down, make by hand, and learn a time-honored craft.

No previous printmaking experience is necessary.

Learn the basics of knitting in a relaxed, welcoming environment. This four-week class is designed for complete beginners and anyone looking to build confidence with the fundamentals. Together, we'll learn how to cast on, knit, and bind off while making a simple beanie.
The pace is casual, with plenty of time to practice, ask questions, and work alongside others. If you already have a knitting project in progress, you're welcome to bring it along! We are happy to help troubleshoot and offer guidance as you work.
